In the market of fashionable pearls jewelry, some pearls are natural, and some pearls are artificially cultured, while others are mimic pearls with a plated coating of pearl luster. So, how do we identify authentic pearls and counterfeited ones?

Friction: gently rub two pearls, authentic pearls are coarse, while counterfeits are slip.

Bore: observe the bore is clear-cut and clear or not, counterfeit bore has pigment deposition.

Color: each pearl is slightly different in color, including original color and tint, however, each counterfeit is the same color without tint.

Cool Feeling: the pearl is felt cool when put in the hand, while counterfeit is not.
